Breast Surgery affect Breastfeeding

B

reast augmentation surgery does not affect breastfeeding as the implant is actually placed behind the breast tissue, be it in front or behind the muscles.

However, a breast reduction surgery will affect the amount of milk that will reproduce after pregnancy as some of the gland will be cut and removed.

Therefore, the best way to look at it is that after breast reduction surgery, you are unlikely to produce enough milk to feed the child.

And the answer is that there’s a new study, which has just been published in the plastic surgery journals, which shows that breast implants won’t make your breasts look worse after you’ve had children. In fact, what I say to my patients is that your breasts will always look better than if you had never had breast implants.
