When is the Best Time for a Rhinoplasty

People seek rhinoplasty either because they want their nose to look better or because they want to breathe better and sometimes both.

So there’s no specific age that’s best for rhinoplasty, a lot of patients get it when they’re young because it’s something they’ve wanted through their childhood years.

And we tend to wait until kids are 15 to 17 years of age before we allow them to undergo rhinoplasty. But really we can perform it at almost any age.

What is unique about a Rhinoplasty procedure?

unique about a Rhinoplasty dubai

Often times you’ll hear people say that rhinoplasty is the most complicated procedure in plastic surgery.

And that view is there because the three dimensional anatomy, the subtly of the detail, the fact that Rhinoplasty specialists also treating a functional organ that when you have to breathe afterwards, makes it very, very complex.

The complexity is pretty significant. Now the good news is Surgeon’s have techniques now, the contemporary approach to rhinoplasty which would refer to as a structure approach, really means that much of the risk has been drilled down.

Rhinoplasty specialists have a much more predictable procedure now. That they can consistently achieve really good results.

And also they have eliminated essentially all of the concern about creating an unnatural result.

And so for most of the surgeons, Draw upon these years of experience to make sure that in each case, they try to deliver an outcome that’s gonna make people really happy.

How will i know if my new Nose will Fit my Face?

my new nose will fit my face?

It’s really important after rhinoplasty that the nose fits the person’s face. It has to blend harmoniously with the other facial features.

So doctors put a lot of attention into making sure that this is the case.

One of the ways Surgeons do that is to use Computer Imaging to show you how nose fit to your face.

Most of the surgeons have both two dimensional and three dimensional computer imaging systems, so they’re able to perform surgery almost in advance of the actual procedure.

And this is just one of several ways in which they put attention into making sure that the proportions of the nose after surgery match the face.

How long is the recovery time?

Most of patients are quite surprised that after rhinoplasty they don’t have that much pain.

Because people hear these horror stories from decades ago about how difficult it was for their mother or father to go through a rhinoplasty or someone they know.

For the majority of cases, the recovery period is not particularly difficult.

Usually patients take one week off from work or school.

After that, they’re fine to resume really all social activities and work. Other people won’t notice that surgery was performed after about a week or so.

Most patients don’t have visible bruising nowadays with modern techniques that rhinoplasty specialists use and that’s really beneficial, people really like that.

So the recovery period initially is about a week.

But there’s a catch.

For most of patients they believe that they really look better than they did before surgery before the first few weeks. One thing that most of our patients are aware of is that rhinoplasty takes a long time to heal.

Best Time for a Rhinoplasty

When you see on the Internet it takes a year, to a year and a half to heal, that’s very accurate. And really what that means is that there’s a little bit of swelling that persists and that little bit of swelling that remodeling of the soft tissue.

It does take at least a year to heal.

In other procedures, aside from rhinoplasty, the fine detail that comes through over the course of a year or so, that last little bit of swelling goes away, may not be that important.

But with rhinoplasty, these very, very, subtle details make the difference between sort of a pretty good result and an excellent result.

“Great nose creates great DIFFERENCE “

Will a Rhinoplasty help me Breathe better?

One of the things that makes rhinoplasty unique is that it’s this marriage of the form and the function.

And for many patients their breathing is very important to them.

Rhinoplasty specialists often have conversations with patients who may want a smaller, more delicate refined nose on the outside, but they want more breathing on the inside.

You start to think well those are sort of contradictory. We want small on the outside, bigger on the inside.

And there are answers for most patients though and it requires a little detailed understanding of not only the anatomy and the aesthetics of the outside of the nose but how breathing works.

There’s sorta a couple of ways, go about it. One is, in any patient who is undergoing rhinoplasty they should have to make sure that surgeons preserve their breathing. They can’t make it worse.

It has to be as good or better than it was before.

And then in patients who are seeking surgery at least in part because they wanna breathe better also have to devise a strategy that improve their breathing while simultaneously making their nose look more attractive.

And in almost all cases there are ways Doctors can do this.

That’s not all…
